Howard J. Blitz was born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois. He moved to Los Angeles in 1962 and attended the University of Arizona completing his M.B.A in 1971. Howard worked as an economic research assistant for the Bank of Hawaii (1971-74) and taught economics at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona (1974-76). He has owned and operated his State Farm Insurance agency in Yuma since June, 1976.
Howard founded The Freedom Library in 1996, which is dedicated to promoting the principles of liberty through awarding scholarships to individuals completing The Freedom Library Education Program.
Howard writes a weekly column entitled A Liberty Moment in the Yuma Sun in Yuma, Arizona and the East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Arizona and had a weekly radio broadcast on KJOK Radio in Yuma.
Besides managing his insurance agency, he currently is an associate professor teaching economics for the University of Phoenix, Arizona and U.S. Constitution for Arizona Western College, and Human Resources Management for Northern Arizona University.
Howard is married to Nancy and they have three daughters and one grandson.
